Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 65 year old lady. walked up 3 flights of stairs, Swiftly. Up the top I couldn t move my left leg. then i got a terrible pain in the top part of my leg. it took about 5 to 10 minutes for the pain to ease and for me to get feeling back in my leg.
As with your history, I feel there will be degenerative changes in the knee joint which can lead to pain in the lower limb and especially the knee. Also as you climbed 3 flights of stairs I feel there might be strain occurred over the muscle and the pain arose. Sometimes when we do all of a sudden any activity too high then it might be related to Delayed onset muscle soreness, which will become better in 2-3 days of time.
As per your age, you need to get involved in physical exercise as it will help over a long run to have an active lifestyle.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Jay Indravadan Patel, Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist
