How Can Odd Sleeping And Food Patterns Be Regularized?

I am concerned about my, almost 15 year old, grandson s odd sleeping and eating patterns.He has such a problem getting up for school, so has started to go to bed at 4pm when he gets in from school ,then gets up in the early hours to eat,shower and have his evening . That way,he says,he is up and won t be late for school. He also,doesnt eat all day,goes to school without breakfast and won t have lunch at school.

Having regular eating and sleeping habits have numerous health benefits in the long run. It is understandable and right on your part to be concerned about the irregular habits your grandson appears to have. I would suggest you sit down and explain the benefits of regular eating and sleeping to your grandson. You may take the help of articles or videos that you can easily find on the internet. Chalk out a schedule he can follow. Explain to him that if he went to bed in time and avoided daytime naps then it would not be hard to wake up in time for school. If there are any other issues causing him stress in school or elsewhere, you can ask him to share it with you so that you can help him out.
