How Can One Manage Gastritis?

I was diagnosed with gastritis 8 years ago. I ve never had any successful treatment. I ve recently noticed that I ve had a flare up that the same time that I m on the sugar pills of my birth control ( or not taking the pill for my off week). Is gastritis triggered with hormones? How can I prevent this? I m in so much upper GI pain I ve had to call in sick before.

Hello,

Yes, OCP may cause gastritis. Other possibilities like alcohol intake or pain killer medication intake or anemia or infection or food intolerence or stress may aggravate it.

Check for autoimmune disease or check for h pylori infection or sle or neuroendocrine tumors etc.

Use tablet pantoprazole before breakfast for one week. If symptoms not improved please consult your gastroenterologist he will examine and do endoscopy then treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
