How Can Pain And Swelling In The Feet Due To An Injury Be Treated?

I dropped a bottle on my foot a week ago. Near my little toe. I am still having pain and swelling in my foot over across the front of my foot.it doesn't seem to be getting better. Do I use ice, Motrin, heat, prop it up? I need it to get better so it doesn't hamper me at work next week.

Hi,
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Since the pain persist we have to rule out a fracture at earliest.
I suggest you to consult an orthopedician and get the following things done.
1.Take an X-ray foot lateral and oblique view to rule out fracture.
Once the fracture has been ruled we are safe and the condition can be managed by immobilization and conservative measures.
2.You can take simple analgesics like "diclofenac" and "ibuprofen" for pain.
3.Hot compress over the affected area provide symptomatic relief.
If the pain and swelling persist despite all these your orthopedician might go for a BK(Below Knee) cast or a splint for immobilizing your affected foot.

Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
