How Can Pain And Swelling In The Knees Be Treated?

I had knee replacement surgery 12 yr, ago. I have swelling and pain in my knee and have had X-rays,bone scans and I have no point tenderness but the knee is getting worse. My Dr say he thinks the Plastic is failing but can t tell without cutting. I also have A-fib but I have never felt any difference in heart beat. I am on blood thinner War afin the heart Dr told me to Quit 5 days prior to surgery. Mt Md told me Friday I need to take insulin during those 5 days does that make sense.

hello, i can understand your concern. your doctor is right in suggesting to stop warfarin 5 days prior to surgery or else this can lead to bleeding complications post surgery. if you are on oral hypoglycemic drugs for diabetes, you would be required to shift to insulin prior to surgery. other than this , there is no requirement for starting insulin.
Hope i have answered your concern. have a nice day
