How Can Pain And Swelling In The Legs Due To High Uric Acid Be Treated?
I have a uric acid level of 8.5. I am not on any medication and my doctor opted to just monitor it. I am unable to walk some days due to pain and swelling in my legs. Is there anything I can do to remedy this besides NSAIDS, which don't help much? My current weight is 280. Could that be a factor?
Increased weight can play a role in pain in the weight bearing joints such as the back, hips and legs. Weight loss would help with this.
YOu may want to repeat the uric acid level to make sure that it is not rising and it would be important to look at any foods that can affect uric acid levels.
There are medications that can be used to help with uric acid levels.
I hope this helps
