How Can Pain And Tenderness In The Chest Caused By An Injury Be Treated?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
All the symptoms you have mentioned suggestive of some minor contusion over your ribs,we have to rule out a fracture even though it is very unlikely.

I suggest you to consult a general practitioner and get the following things done:-
(1)- Take an X-ray chest PA view to rule out fractured ribs.
(2)- You can take simple analgesics like "ibuprofen" or "diclofenac" for pain.
(3)- Apply cold compresses for symptomatic relief.
(4)- Avoid strenuous physical activities and adequate bed rest for couple of days would be helpful.
(5)-counter irritant creams can provide symptomatic relief.
Most of the cases will improve with this home remedies and chances for complications are extremely rare.

Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.

Regards.
Dr.Shinas Hussain
