How Can Pain In The Ankle Be Treated?

Hello doctor, I had a sprain in my ankle 15 days back while getting down through stairs. First i got swelling over that place and after using a band and aceclofenac with serapeptadine tablets the swelling got reduced. But the pain at the ankle joint still continues, I took rest tried different methods to reduce it but unable to heal the pain. What s your advice doctor, to reduce the pain?? Thank you Sriram

You have to give absolute rest means don't keep on pressure on that joint. Use crepe bandage, elevate the limb it may take few days to weeks to recover completely so don't worry. If symptoms not improved please consult your orthopedics he will examine and take X-ray of the joint and treat you accordingly. Take care.
