How Can Pain In The Arms And Fingers Be Treated?

Hi Dr Swapan Mukherjee, For the last 2 weeks, I am having occasional pain, especially after going to bed, pain in my both arms & inertness in arms & fingers, besides sensation in my lips. My house physician examined, done CT scan of brain besides blood examination & informed mild cerebral attack. I am male, 78 years,want to consul you. Pl. advise

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Most common cause for small joint pain in old age is calcium and vitamin d 3 deficiency. So better to get done calcium and vitamin d 3 levels. If deficiency then you will need supplements. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Possibility of stroke is very very less for your symptoms.
