How Can Pain In The Buttocks And Legs Be Treated?

I have sciatica for 3 or 4 years. Sometimes it goes away for a while. In the past three days I have pain on both the left and right buttocks, different from the sciatic. ( Not like a tennis ball in the butt -standard description) There is significant pain where my legs are attached to my body. Heat did not help.m

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Since the pain is different from the type that you normally experience with your sciatica, it may be best for you to be assessed by your doctor.

Pain in the buttocks that extends to the thigh is often related to sciatica but since you are having it on both sides, it would imply that both nerves are involved.

Physical examination and repeat imaging may be needed if it continues.

I hope this helps
