Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I fell on my butt while bowling. My shoe went a few inches over the line and I slipped on the oil while releasing the ball and went down hard. I have been taking Advil and icing. I can walk fine without pain and sit on soft surfaces without pain other than a dull ache in my left butt cheek. My assumption is that I bruised my tailbone. It has been 6 days. I mainly feel pain when going from standing to sitting or sitting to standing and putting pressure on my left leg to standup or sit down. Also when I bent over once putting my weight on my left leg to get something off of the ground I had a sharp pain that went away when I stood up straight again. Should I see a doctor or just continue with the Advil and give it time to heal?
Pain due to soft tissue injury can be present for 2 to 6 weeks in some persons unfortunately.
If the pain is severe, then you can be seen but if it is not severe or it is improving then you do not need to be assessed unless you remain concerned.
I hope this helps
