How Can Pain In The Knees Be Treated?

I Had knee replacement and am having knee pain. XRAYS show the pain is caused by a bad hip. Doctor has prescribed Diclofenac sodium topical to be used on the hip area for the next 6 weeks. This has not addressed the pain issue What are other alternatives

He can use corticosteroids injection at the joint to ease pain.
Also gabapentin can help.
Also a narcotic pain reliever such oxycodone can be used for pain.
