Hello,

If you had a broken bone a year ago, the likely cause of persistent pain is possibly a fracture non-union. Non-union means the broken fragment of bone has not healed completely. Non-union is common if the original fracture has not been treated properly with alignment and immobilization. Confirmation of diagnosis requires x-ray/CT scanning.

Treatment is with surgery to properly align the bone fragments and immobilization until complete healing. Please be advised to follow-up with an Orthopedician for further evaluation and management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
