How Can Pain Under The Ribs While Suffering From Pneumonia Be Treated?

Hi my child just got discharged from hospital yesterday he had pneumonia we were there for 5 days he is still on antibiotics and is complaining of really bad pain under ribs I was told this normal but I was wondering how bad is this pain and what can I do to help

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The pain can vary from mild to severe but your son would need to tell you how it is for him.
You can give him pain medication such as paracetamol or ibuprofen to help ease his discomfort.

In some cases, the pain is worse with coughing, so you may need to try a cough suppressant as well.
