How Can Painful Arthritis In The Hips Be Treated?

98 yo father-in-law with history of CABG (no symptoms post 25 years), AAA repair 20 years ago, leg neuropathy, arthritic knees and now R hip arthritis. The latter has become very painful and am wondering if he couldn t try Celebrex without too much risk, even though he takes Coumadin and is carefully monitored.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice

Arthritis or arthritic changes in this age of 98 years old, nothing much can be done but the condition can be only managed with symptomatic medicine.
It is being even managed in the same way, if the patient is young and or in middle age. With the history of cardiac disease, it is better to manage the arthritis or joint pain with NSAID (Non steroid anti-inflammatory drugs.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
