How Can Rheumatoid Arthritis Be Treated When Suffering From High Cholesterol?

I was diagnosed with RA my discomfort is on my ankles. I previously had breast cancer in 2000. I have also high cholesterol 250. What would be the best medicine to start taking? When I take 10 mg of prednisone and folic acid I feel good. I also tried taking Alleve twice a day instead of Prednisone and that gave me relief also My rheumatologist suggested Methotrexate but after reading side effects am somewhat reluctant but I believe that I should start an RA medicine before I get worse.

I really appreciate your concern, if this is RA then of course steroid gives very good result but it can not be taken for long time, there is not cure for this disease but it can be controlled with good management, changing life style, NSIAD, physiotherapy are the best options, once the course of steroid overs then better not to repeat this again hope this information helps.
