How Can Runny Nose Be Treated?

I m David. I m 75 and I ve had runny nose for years. I lived in a condo by myself, and it was very clean, but I still had the runny nose. I recently was married and now live with her two cats. Never been allergic to cats before. I have taken Zyrtex for over a month, no help. Took Flonaze no help. currently I have been on Claritin for over a month, no real help. The mucous is clear. Any suggestions?

dear sir
I understand the continuous rhinitis might be of any allergy.
as rightly thought of,it might be due to allergy to animal dander(cats),then once you are away from them it ll be treated or a good hygiene to avoid the cat fur.
Had I been your treating doctor i would have advised for a combination of monteleukast with levocetrizine (lecope M) or telekast M for a period of 15 days may be.
How ever if the symptoms are persisting please get a allergy test done.
Hope this helps
most welcome for further queries
