How Can Severe Acid Reflux Be Treated After A Surgery For Staph Infection?

I had breast augmentation in February, 10 days later had a staph infection and had another surgery to clean out the left side. Every since I have had serious heartburn. Have had endoscopy, chest X-rays, bloodwork...all normal. Been taking PPI meds plus over the counter Zantac. No relief. I m miserable!

Hello,

You may be suffering from acid reflux with gastritis.

Need to avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.

Antibiotics also cause gastritis.

Use tablet pantoprazole. head end elevation, taking soft diet with a low quantity with increased frequency may useful.

If symptoms not improved please consult your physician/gastroenterologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

It is due to severe acid reflux and associated gastritis.

Avoid spicy foods.

You can and newer PPI like lansoprazole for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated. You might require an endoscopy for further assessment.
