I ve had diarrhea for four days and vomited for the first day now once again just now. My doctor prescribed zofran but the diarrhea is ad with 20 seconds of watery stool real frequently....it s back tonight every 15 minutes And I m worried because I ve never had either this long

Hi,

Diarrhea, vomiting can be due to gastrointestinal infection from bacteria due to contaminated food and water probably. In order to control it you need to take antibiotics like Ofloxacine + Ornidazole BD for 5 days.

You can also take low dose of Loperamide tablet and increase it subsequently if diarrhea continues. However no more than 16 mg. You need to take plenty of liquids to main hydration.

You can make solution of water, salt, lemon and take it. Take light meals for few days.try soup and curd in diet it has a healthy effect on gut.
