How Can Severe Pain On The Right Side Of The Face Due To Shingles Be Treated?

It is very severe phantom unbearable pain periodically each 3-4 hours during 30 seconds- one minute at the right side of the face after shingles on the right side of the face. For a treatment I take 800 mg of Gabapentin three times daily but a pain still there. Please help me. Alla Feldshteyn 77 years old.

Hi,

You can take analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol for pain relief. Gabapentin may not be effective in every case. If pain persists better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.
