How Can Severe Pain Radiating From The Ankle To The Knee Be Treated?

I have been prone to cramps in my legs and feet almost my entire life. Now I have pain start in the front of my ankle and go straight up my leg almost to the knee. When it happens the shin bone up the front of the leg actually protrudes about a 1/4 inch. I have tried heat which did not work, if I can get ice on my ankle quickly enough, sometimes I can stop it from going up my leg. This usually happens at night. It is very, very painful.

Hi,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Acetaminophen or Diclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, you can consult an orthopedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
