Hello,
Because Deanxit has both an antidepressant and an
antipsychotic component, stopping it abruptly even when replaced with other antidepressants can cause significant withdrawal effects. It can take 4–6 weeks for your system to adjust fully after such a switch. Since the
withdrawal symptoms are impacting your daily life, you are advised to keep your treating doctor informed regarding it.
Informing your treating doctor who has prescribed you medicines is important as he should consider prescribing another medication to bridge the withdrawal period or adjust your
Wellbutrin dose or add a short-term anti-anxiety / nerve stabilizer so that you are comfortable.
Tingling and weakness can sometimes come from vitamin deficiencies (B12, folate, vitamin D) or other nerve issues.
You may be referred to a
neurologist for further treatment. Drink enough fluids to remain well hydrated. Eat regular, balanced meals. Avoid a sedentary lifestyle and be active. Do gentle physical activity like walking and stretching. It will improve nerve symptoms. Avoid excess caffeine, as Wellbutrin already stimulates the nervous system.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
