Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Just diagnosed with invasive squamous cell carcinoma. Had an in-patient treatment that did not come back clear from pathology - not sure about the margins. Dr. has informed me about 2 options: surgery in the OR instead of the office or 3 low-level radiation treatments. Any recommendation? I am a 72 yr. old male in generally good health.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Skin cancer has an aggressive course and spread rapidly. I would suggest surgical excision followed by chemo/radiation of needed. Consult an onco surgeon for expert opinion.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks.
