How Can Sore Throat In A Child Be Treated?

hi my little nephew has mono. the last time I saw him was over a month ago and I don t recall sharing drinks or anything like that with him, but just in the past 3 days I ve developed a sore throat that doesn t go away or get better with anything and I m really tired. Is it possible that I contracted mono that long ago?

HI..I don't think it is mono. It could be a viral or a streptococcal pharyngitis. I suggest you need to do a rapid streptococcal antigen testing and if it is positive go ahead with antibiotics and if negative, it could be viral and just warm saline gargles will do.
