Hi,I am Diwashish Biswas (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Sores On The Lips And Excessive Salivation While On Linzess Be Treated?
My husband had radical cystectomy 3 1/2 months ago. Due to cycles of diarrhea and constipation, his doctor prescribed Linzess ( 1 or 2 a day, 30 minutes before eating) He now has sores on his lip, and a great deal of mucus in his mouth, with difficulty tasting anything. He is able to swallow liquids and is well hydrated, but very lethargic and depressed.
Lethargic and depressed feelings are not due to the disease he had, neither it is due to the surgical procedure he had gone through but it could be due to some general debility, or it may be due to functional elements so no need to worry about this. Try some extra supplements of oral vitamin and moral support also plays good rule.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain,
