Hello,

Blood and mucous in stools may be due to:
1. Bacillary or amoebic dysentery
2. Inflammatory bowel disease
3. Diverticulitis
4. Irritable bowel syndrome
5. Polyps or malignancy et cetera

Please get done below investigations:
1. Stool examine and culture
2. Colonoscopy
3. Blood sugar
4. Widal
5. Stool for occult blood et cetera

Avoid spicy food, alcohol and smoking, and eat soft diet. Use tablet Oflox Ornidazole (after giving stool for investigation) twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
