How Can Stuttering After A Concussion Be Treated?

Hi, I was involved in a motorcycle incident 6 and a half years ago in which I received a concussion (among many other injuries). Since the incident i have noticed that my speech seems to have been impaired. I used to speak very clearly and concisely, but now it s like my brain and my mouth kind of work at different speeds. Sometimes one gets ahead of the other and I end up stuttering. Is this something fairly normal and is it something that will get better or worse over time? I know I could probably see a speech therapist but it s not quite that bad.
