How Can Successful Medical Abortion Be Confirmed?

Hi Dr. I took 4 misoproatal tablets last night. Two orally and 2 inserted in my vagina. I started bleeding at about after 12 in the morning. Has diarrhea an chills and a fever. I passed 3 big clots. I hadn t had any severe cramping. I soaked out about 2 pads. It s the next day an I just went to the bathroom an I realize that my bleeding is stopping. Does that mean that my abortion was not successful? I need help please.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Abortion after taking medications can be confirmed by undertaking an ultrasound scan.

Kindly take an ultrasound scan to know whether all the products of conception has been expelled completely or not.

Kindly consult Obstetrician with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
