How Can Suspicious Behaviour In A Spouse Be Dealt With?

My husband is 79 years old and in reasonably good health for his age. I m 70. In the last few years (more and more often) he accuses me of certain things. For instance he is convinced that I m having an affair which I m not and would never do. Can you suggest a book I could read to better handle this situation? I m at a loss as to where to turn. Kathy

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have read your question and can understand the problem you are suffering, though suspicions may not be always abnormal but once it is so out of proportion and repeated, especially at this age may indicate some brain problem, it may be a psychiatric issue or a neurological one, the best thing I would suggest is to talk to a psychiatrist, as he needs to be evaluated in more details and then plan accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
