How Can Swelling And Pain Around The Lips Be Treated?

Hi, I had a facial on tuesday , some extractions of blackheads was performed. During the process the esthecian tried to extract a black head near my lower lip repeatedly. My lip is now swollen, sore, red and a small pustule has appeared in the centre. I have been applying more compresses.

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

It is really bad on the part of your beautician to be that obsessive about the black head. It is ok. Don't worry. The following treatment is usually recommended :
1) Mupirocin ointment only on that pustule topically.
2) Tab.Chymoral Forte (serratiopeptidase) once daily, to reduce pain and swelling
3) Do not try any kind of facial creams, lotions, lip-care gels, soaps (except a few milder ones like Cetaphil, dove).
4) If pain and swelling don't reduce or pustule persists even after application of the above mentioned ointment for 2 days, you can go for an antibiotic tab.Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid 625mg, twice daily for 3 days.
5) If the irritation and burning at that site are intense, calamine lotion can be applied.

Hope my explanation answers your doubts. Any further queries are always welcome. It's my pleasure to assist you. I wish you get well soon.

Thank you.

Take care
