How Can Swelling In The Finger Due To A Tight Ring Be Treated?

My wife has a very unique style ring. It's a ladies crown on a band so you can imagine how odd shaped it is? She fell a sleep on it earlier this evening and now it's swollen. We've tried everything, Windex didn't work, soap, shampoo, you name it. We even tried the string idea but due to her ring being oddly shaped it did nothing. Any suggestions? She's sleeping now and trying to wait for the swelling to go down. Please help

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

If swelling and bluish discoloration persist, it has to be removed.

You can take her to hospital and get it removed. Sometimes a gas cutter may be required!

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
