How Can Swollen Legs, Lung Scars And Breathlessness Be Treated?
hi,i have been having shortness of breath for some time now,esp when i start moving,my legs are swollen.It feels like my heart,prev tricusp valve repair.I have had ultra sound,told everything is normal.Have seen chest consultant,small scars in lung,housebound for last week.I am female 56

Chronic bronchitis can cause lung scarring, breathlessness, edema feet etc Chronic bronchitis can damage right side of heart and it will cause 'Cor Pulmonale'. Cor pulmonale causes fluid retention in the body. So you should first consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, PFT (pulmonary function test) and 2d echo (for Cor pulmonale). You will need diuretics, inhaled bronchodilator and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) for treatment. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Quit smoking if you are a smoker.
