Hi,I am Dr. Carol Rogala (Emergency Medicine). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can The Inability To Use Words And Create Sentences After A Head Injury Be Treated And Cured?
My wife is searching for words to complete a sentence, she had a brain bleeding from a car accident in January, once and awhile she hasn t been able to find the correct word but today it has been bad,no weakness, she is alert,no numbness,no headache, even smile, knows day, year, address
The symptoms that you are reporting about your wife is commonly found in patients who have had a traumatic brain injury. Some patients recover fully but most of the patients end up having residual deficits in their neurological functions which may recover slowly over time or may not recover at all.
This also depends upon how severe was the bleed and which part of the brain was injured. I would suggest going to an occupational therapist and a speech therapist for her rehabilitation. These will definitely help in improvement of her symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Raunak, Orthopedic Surgeon
