Treatment of a ligament injury varies from simple splinting to surgical repair-- but there are a myriad of factors before your physician can recommend treatment--viz. which ligament is damaged, time since injury, severity of the injury, how is the ligament injury bothering you etc. I suggest you first see a specialist who will examine you clinically & then might recommend some investigations to better diagnose the nature & extent of the injury. This will aid in recommending the best treatment options for you.
