How Damaging Is It For A Baby To Inhale Car Exhaust Gas And Cigarette Smoke?

I Was wondering how damaging it is for a baby to smell car exhaust/ gas and cigarettes out in public since these things are unavoidable when we go out, can it affect the baby even if it’s in small quantities or should I just keep my baby from going out?

Hi,

Every parent wishes their infant to grow up in a clean, healthy environment. But since we are living in a modern, industrialized society we must compromise. We all live in this imperfect world.

That means that adults, adolescents, children and babies must breathe the same air. All of us inhale pollutants which do some damage to our respiratory tract.

It would be unrealistic to keep your infant indoors all of the time. He needs to go outdoors. You can do your best as his mother to keep him away from dusty, smoky environments., not smoke yourself, and attempt to keep him away from others who smoke.

Hope I have answered your query.
