How Do I Know If I Have MS Or Fibromyalgia?

I have been in quite a bit of pain and my Mother passed at 50 years, getting MS at the age of 36. I am very tired all of the time but I have had Fibromyalgia for 28 years so I always think everything has to do with my other problems. How would I know if I have MS?

When you have suspicion to know, I would like to suggest some tests:

1. Complete Blood Count
2. MRI of the brain
3. Lumbar puncture
4. Evoked potential tests
5. Renal Function Test (to see how the kidney is functioning and capable to take the drugs).

All these tests will reveal how much MS is affecting your body.

I also suggest you have this medicine DALFAMPRIDINE 10mg once daily Prednisone 80 mg every other day (an alternative day like Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, Tuesday and go on) for 1 month.

For fibromyalgia, Pregabalin 100 mg orally twice a day Duloxetine hydrochloride 20mg once a day for 1 week.

Post a question with the test results. Any doctor here in HCM can follow you up. You can do Tests (point 1-4 above) regularly once in a year to see whether you have MS. Do not worry.
