Hi and welcome,

There are a number of treatment options available for this condition. The issue however is their high failure rate. So while some women may do very well others may simply not show 1% improvement.

The options are
1. drugs like Gn Rh agonists: high side effects
2. danazol: causes hirsuitism
3.progesterone: you have already tried
4. Hormone containing intra uterine devices: Mirena: good results
5. Uterine artery embolisation: blocking the uterine arteries under ultrasound guidance. Decreases blood supply to the uterus and hence bleeding.
6. MRI guided Focused ultrasound surgery: Uses MRI to target lesion and ablate them

So we do have an array of options other than hysterectomy. Just discuss these with your doctor and decide the best option.

Hope this satisfies your query.
