Hi, Moraxella catarrhalis is one of the commonest causes of otitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, and bronchopneumonia. It spreads with respiratory droplets. It preferes the respiratory system. It can not be distinguished clinically from other pathogens as pneumococus or hemofilus influenze, but the doctor can order an examen called culture where it can be isolated. It is a common pathogen that can be cured perfectly with antibiotics like amoxicillin-ac. clavulonic, second and third generation cefalosporins etc. Since it can be treated, it is not dangerous.
