How Does One Heal Severe Bruising In Legs With Redness?

Several years back I had a accident and severely bruised my legs. To this day my legs look like they are still bruised only lighter in hue of purple an red. Why has this not gone away completely? Is there such a thing as permanent bruising, bruising that won't go away completely?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

It seems unlikely that a bruise has persisted for so long. I rather would like to keep a possibility of hyperpigmentation.

I would advice that you visit a dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis since he/she would be able to visualize the area.

Usage of a moderately potent steroid cream like fluticasone twice daily for 2-3 weeks will help to diminish it.

An oral Vitamin C once daily is advisable too.

take care
regards
