How Does Partial Hysterectomy Right Fallopian Tube And Ovary Plus Cause Constipation?

Hello, I just had a partial hysterectomy right Fallopian tube and ovary plus uterus removed. I also had horrible constipation. My gyn found lots of tissue scarring a couple of lesions and my intestine was literally attached (glued) to my stomach wall? What does this mean? I'm blowing up like a balloon when I eat anything. I just had it done yesterday. I realize it hasn't been long. Suggestions for diet? Constipation relief?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thank you for he query.
This condition is called intestinal adhesion. It is one of the complications of surgery. Normally, your intestines are not attached to stomach wall. This adhesion can lead to intestinal obstruction which could be partial or complete.
With this presentation, stool softeners are advised. These can be natural or over-the-counter laxatives.
Natural stool softeners involve a high fiber diet which can be obtained by consuming more green vegetables, fruits and whole grains. It is also necessary to drink much water.
If this does not help, then surgery maybe advised again to separate these adhered organs.

I hope that answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. We will be delighted to answer more questions from you.
I wish you good health
