Hello, and I hope I can clarify some information for you.
A
retroverted uterus just means that your uterus is tilted towards your back rather than towards the front. 20% of normal women have a retroverted uterus, as opposed to anteverted (80%). It is like being right or left-handed and has no clinical significance.
When your uterus is described as "bulky" it means it is larger than normal. This can be caused by many factors, such as previous childbearing, and/or conditions of the uterus like
adenomyosis and fibroids. Both of these conditions can cause heavy painful periods, but they do not mention seeing them on the test.
The "cystic lesion" in your right adnexa (ovary) means that you had a small (less than 3cm) cyst with no signs that it is any kind of
tumor (no septations or nodules). It is normal to grow a cyst in your ovary every month because that ovary made the egg that was ovulated that month, and once it comes out a fluid filled space remains. I would guess from this report that you were in about the third week of your cycle if my estimation is correct.
So unfortunately this
ultrasound does not shed light on why your periods are so painful. In the US where I practice an
MRI of the pelvis would be the next logical test because it can image your uterus better and help to make a diagnosis, but if that is not an option for you, if you have painkillers that work, taking them to control the pain is not harmful. If you have not seen a GYN doctor for th
