How Is Montoax Test Interpreted In Kids?

how is montoax test interpreted in small children? my child is a male of 2 years 10 kg weight,2ft height. last month my elder brother-my son`s uncle,who used to live with us,died of TB. he was an XDR PATIENT.WHEN I consulted my paediatrician to check my son for any kind of TB infection that he may have caught accidently from his uncle,she told me to get anX-ray of chest PA view done for my son. after seeing the X-ray film she asked for the montoax test. it was done on friday and we have to consult the padiatrician on monday. I`m very scared of my son getting any kind of this fatal infection. please guide me how i can interpret this montoax test at home?

Hi,
I know your concern of having this infection.
you have not mentioned clearly about report of x-ray.
Positive montoux test has got diagnostic value in children and so if test is positive and has some problem in his x-ray indicates having active tuberculosis.
In positive test there might be having some swelling and erythema on test side.
Positive Montoux test is less significance in adult.
consult your pediatrician and discuss about this.
