Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Praveen G's Response
Hello, welcome to HCM,
Rabies is a diseas which is transmitted by the licks, bite and scratch by the rabid animal. Rabies is a 100% fatal disease nut it is 100% preventable by proper and adequate treatment.
It is not transmitted by sharing of the food and water. It is transmissible only if your friend is having rabies. Otherwise nothing to worry.
Don't neglect to take treatment. Your friend should take minimum of three doses of antirabies vaccine to the shoulder.
Thank you
