How Long I Will Be On Oxygen After A Hip Replacement?

I had a hip replacement now 3 mos. Before the operation I have had breathing problems, pulmonary fibrosis, I have been on Symbicort, and it was working, I was not on oxygen. After the operation, I am now on oxygen, and everyone tells me my breathing will come back eventually. Please advise it it will come back and just have to use my Symbicort, and not oxygen. Was there a chance the Anesthesist maybe expanded my lungs and they are stretched. Will my normal breathing come back eventually.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I have studied your case and I can assure you that your present illness is not due to surgery or anesthesia. After 3 months if there is breathing difficulty I think it can be due to either lung fibrosis, or it can be due to weak chest muscles.I would recommend you to meet your chest physician and discuss with him about your oxygen need, sometime it is like a habit and person's lung become dependent on artificial oxygen support. I would suggest you to gradual weaning of this oxygen.
