my two year old grand child diagnosed for NS one year back and is being administered omnacortil off & on since than. My question is : How long this medicine can be continued & if not what is the alternate to avoid frequent relapse( in less than a month after two months of medicine) ?
Hi...By what you quote I feel that the kid is having a frequently relapsing nephrotic syndrome (though the information provided is minimal). usually if this is the case a low dose steroids of 0.5mg/kg/day can be given up to 6 months to prevent frequent relapses. Regards - Dr. Sumanth
