How Long After Hysterectomy Can I Engage In Sexual Intercourse?

Yes please how long after my hysterectomy can I engage in sexual intercourse with my spouse... What is the rationale of having to wait for so long. They tell you the same thing after you have a baby what nobody really waits that's long. What could be complications if you have sex earlier than recommended. I know after having a baby there is a chance of pregnancy but what are they for a hysterectomy?

Hello madam, from the history you have given, well yes it is necessary to have abstinence from your partner following hysterectomy. This Is because the body needs time to get back to its strength.In hysterectomy, the uterus is removed.you did not mention the reason for hysterectomy?, as in some situations the cervix also needs to be removed.Apart from the body requiring healing time, following hysterectomy there is more prone for infections.so you will suggested to be away from sexual intercourse and to maintain personal hygiene. The time period depends..The faster the recovery, the early, which will be adviced by your surgeon . hope i was helpful to you.
