How Long After Removal Of Metal Screws From Tibia Will I Be Able To Do Aerobics?
Hi, I broke tibia fibula and malleus 15 mtgs ago and got a plate and six screws into tibia. 6 weeks ago I had the plate and screws removed and ankle feels great. I m walking really well and have been doing low impact exercise, weights, leg lifts, yoga etc, since 2 days post op. I would love to start doing aerobics again and was wondering when it would be safe to do so? I realise there are six holes there and am not sure how long they take on average to fill in. Hopefully you can help. :) Thanks in advance! :)
I have studied your case and I would recommend you to wait 6 weeks more before yu start dancing or jumping activity. Some time due to plate underline bone remains weak and that can increase chances of the stress fracture. So I would recommend you to delay dancing, running and jumping. You are allow to do light work as you already doing. I would also recommend you to apply a compression bandage. This will prevent sudden twisting and turning. I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other folowup questions. thanks.
