How Long Before Surgery Should Nicotine Smoking Be Avoided?

I was going to smoke some hookah pre surgery but I don t know how long I need to wait before surgery I can have the surgery without the nicotine affecting my surgery and recovery process. How many weeks do I need to go without it in order to have surgery safely? The surgery is for a straitening a crossed eye aka strabismus surgery.

I really appreciate your concern, as matter of fact if the respiratory system is clear and unremarkable then surgery can be done but it is highly advisable to quit the smoking, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
