I have been told i need an ACDF on c5/c6. I am an industrial electrician which involves pulling large wire and running heavy conduit and also working on ladders with arms over my head looking up. How long will I not be able to go back to doing my job?
I have noted that you are going to undergo a spine surgery, ACDF on C5-C6.
If the surgery goes on well, and there are no complications, then, you would be discharged from the hospital in about a week.
After that you would require rest for 7-10 days, and then, you would be able to start light job. Heavy job such as yours may be resumed after about a month of surgery. I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
