Hi,I am Diwashish Biswas (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a TAVR procedure September 28. On Oct.10 I had a bad afib and was shocked to get my rhythm. I was put on amiodrone and immediately had reaction, but 10 days later looked on internet for side effects. Was taken off, but continue to have balance problems, vision problems occasionally, something like vertigo, and now have started having rapid heart rate when sleeping mostly. I have been wearing a heart moniter for almost two weeks. My next drs. appointment is next Friday. What is going on? YYYY@YYYY
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The side effects of Amiodarone will last only for few days. The symptoms you are experiencing may be something unrelated to Amiodarone. Vertigo and dizziness are not common with Amiodarone and may be due to other issues. It is better to consult your physician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
